CTF_Well released
Written by Unknown on 26.01.2008 Time 11:49

Just a few days ago we told you about a Capture the Files version of CP_well. This time it didn’t took Valve as long as normal to finally release this map. Now we’ll give you a short overview of the new map:

First things first: The map itselft didn’t really change, it’s nearly like the CP version.

Some minor changes have been made:
  • (of course) no Control Pointli>
  • moving trains have been removed (why?)
  • a new way to the Attic-area
  • Setup-Time has been removed
  • The Spawnrooms at CP1/5 Intel-room) and at CP3 (map middle) have been removed
  • Spawnroom at CP2/4 has been added

Next to the new map came some further changes. Finally you can let the game take automatical screenshots at the end of a match. You can turn it on in the Multiplayer Advanced options. Furthermore they eliminated a bug, which caused the game to crash to the desktop, when adding a Custom Spraylogo.
  • Added new capture the flag map CTF_Well
  • Added Spanish map descriptions
  • Added new option to auto-save a scoreboard screenshot at the end of a map to the Multiplayer-Advanced dialog
  • Added more particle optimizations for mid range and low end hardware
  • Updated CP_GravelPit to fix all known exploits and changed the scoring method to score per capture rather than per round
  • Updated "nextlevel" CVAR to trigger a changelevel at the end of the current round (not mini-round)
  • Fixed SourceTV demo recording problem
  • Fixed mp_stalemate_enable not preventing Sudden Death mode on some maps
  • Fixed a couple cases where player stats were not being recorded correctly
  • Fixed some log entries being truncated
  • Fixed crash caused by trying to import a custom player spray
  • Removed the "Reset Stats" button from the Player Stats screen

After this, we’d like to give you a summary about whats waiting for uns in the future. We linked directly to the actual released news:

There has never been any other game that much supported by Valve like Team Fortress 2. Of course some changes are dramatical and make the people go nuts, but we all should be thankful for this great support. We also want to thank all the readers, who took part in the discussion about the Column of "Kellermensch".
